(October 7, 2018) — Caroline Wozniacki earned her second China Open title after defeating Anastasija Sevastova 6-3, 6-3. The win was Caroline’s third title of the year as well as the 30th of her successful career. Wozniacki also sealed her spot to defend her title at the WTA Finals in Singapore later this month.

Caroline’s journey to her second title in Beijing came with a 6-2, 6-3 Quarterfinal win over Katerina Siniakova. Up next for Caroline was the Semifinal, resulting in an impressive straight-set 6-1, 6-3 win over Qiang Wang.

“I stayed very calm and collected and just focused,” Wozniacki said during her post-match press conference. “I kind of knew what my game plan was, then just went out there and just tried to do the best that I could. It worked out for me today.”

This tournament win was important to Caroline, being her second China Open win. Having won eight years ago back in 2010, Caroline stated eight was her ‘lucky number’. ‘I felt this was my year,’ she said after the victory.
